"The hearts of mankind isn't always balanced, nobody always has the same intentions. Some people would put others above themselves, making sure they're happy and having their world full of joy. Other people would never think about others and just focus on themselves, never thinking twice about their actions."

"But the events you will see in this tale will show that whether you're a superhero or a supervillain... inside, you're just the same inside."

*Sounds of running can be heard in the street while rain is pouring*

Bandicoot: *Running as fast as he can, breathing a bit deeply* *Huff! Puff!* "I can't..! I won't..!"

Bandicoot: *Looks down in his hand while he's running to see 4 crystals in his hand* "I won't let those people use these for whatever nefarious plan they have!" *Heads into an alleyway and checks if no one's following him* "Haaaaa..." *Starts catching his breath* "Even though people may think what I did was wrong... Only I and whoever made these crystals know what they're REALLY made for. And I'll do whatever it takes to protect everyone! They deserve no suffering at all!"

*Flashback*

*In a store*

Bandicoot: *Humming a little song, looking around and thinking to himself* ("This store is certainly unique. There must be interesting stuff here.") *Notices something and stops humming* "?" *Approaches what caught his eyes* "What's this?"

Shopkeeper: *Notices the customer's interest* "You have a good eye sir. Believe it or not, that is a box of genuine Elemental Crystals that were excavated from different ruins."

Bandicoot: *Surprised and interested* "Genuine? You mean they're real?"

Shopkeeper: "Yep. So far we've only had 4 excavations, but they were all successful!"

Bandicoot: "Could you tell me more about them?" *Takes the box and brings it to the counter* "I'd actually like to hear more about these Elemental Crystals."

Shopkeeper: "Glad there's something you're interested in. And sure, I can tell you."

Shopkeeper: "As I have told you, these 4 Elemental Crystals were excavated from the Elemental temples of Light, Fire, Ice and Earth."

Bandicoot: "Elemental temples?" *Intrigued*

Shopkeeper: "Yes. The excavators were following a rumour of ancient temples that contained special crystals. Intrigued by the rumour, they decided to investigate the temples and found the Elemental Crystals that I have so far. I don't know why they suddenly stopped before they headed to the other temples, but I heard a rumour of a group of vigilantes who spread chaos all around here. Maybe they learned of the excavations and decided to make sure they get the Elemental Crystals first."

Bandicoot: "Wow... It's kind of spooky when you think about it. But it's also very interesting about these crystals themselves." *Getting his wallet out* "So how much do I need to pay for these?"

Shopkeeper: "Actually, I'm in a good mood. So I'll let you take these on the house."

Bandicoot: "W-what?!" *Shocked* "T-they're free?!"

Shopkeeper: "Well I'm actually going to go out of business soon. So you can take these, no charge."

Bandicoot: "W-wow." *Takes the Elemental Crystals after unpacking them* "T-thank you so much." *Starts to leave the store* "Bye! Have a nice day!" *Exits the store, putting the Elemental Crystals in his right pocket of his jacket*

Shopkeeper: "Have a nice day too!"

*Later*

Bandicoot: *Walking down the street when a raindrop hits his face and he looks up* "Oh man... Looks like it's about to start raining." *Pulls his hoodie up above his head* "Guess I better head home quickly before I get soaked." *Starts running until he bumps into a figure* G-gah! *Falls to the ground and lands on his butt, the crystals falling out of the pocket* "S-sorry... I was trying to get home quickly from the rain and I didn't notice that-

Mysterious Man: *Grabs the bandicoot by his neck and lifts him up* "Where did you get those crystals? Depending on your answer..." *Summons a demon-like sword in his other hand* "I might let you live."

Bandicoot: *Trying to get his breath, choking a little* "S-s-store... A s-store. I-I bought them from a-a store."

Mysterious Man: *Tightens his grip* "Are you playing games with me?"

Bandicoot: "N-no! I'm not!" *Squirming and struggling for breath* "I-I'd never lie like that."

Mysterious Man: "No matter..." *Let's go of him* "It seems like we finally found what we need."

Bandicoot: *Catching his breath* "W-we? What're you talking about?" *Confused*

Mysterious Man: "Unfortunately for you..." *Points his sword at the bandicoot* "You must be silenced so that no one finds out!" *About to drive the sword through*

Bandicoot: "N-NO!!" *Covers his eyes with his arm* "I don't wanna die!"

*Different coloured flashes of white, red, light blue and yellow come from the Elemental Crystals, stopping the Mysterious Man from driving the sword through by blinding him!"

Mysterious Man: "GAH!!" *Covers his eyes* "What the?!"

Bandicoot: *Uncovers his eyes and sees the crystals glowing* "W-what the heck?" *Confused*

Voice in the bandicoot's head: "You must hurry! My friends and I cannot keep him subdued for long!"

Bandicoot: HUH?! *Confused* "P-please tell me what's going on!"

Voice in the bandicoot's head: "There's no time! Get yourself to safety and then we'll tell you everything! Take the crystals and GO!"

Bandicoot: "O-okay!" *Grabs the crystals and starts running until he's far away*

Mysterious Man: *Uncovers his eyes once the light fades and sees the bandicoot and the crystals are gone* "Drat!" *A bit furious, but calms down and thinks* "Wait a minute... There's no way those crystals could've chosen him!" *Turns and looks at the direction the bandicoot ran* "Even if he becomes the champion of the crystals, how will he defend himself when trouble finds him?"

*Now*

Bandicoot: *Finished catching his breath* "Phew..." *Checks again to see that he's not being followed* "I'm safe now. I better head home now." *Starts to leave when...*

Mugger: *Puts a knife behind the bandicoot's neck* "You picked a bad place to hide you mutt. Now hand over what you have and nobody gets hurt!"

Bandicoot: !! *Thinks* ("Just my luck!")

Mugger: "I said hand over-" *Sees a glow coming from his intended victim's body* "W-what the?!" *Pulls the knife back and steps away* "W-what kind of trickery is this?!"

Bandicoot: "Huh?" *Looks at his body, it's emitting an aura of white, red, light blue and yellow combined* "W-what the heck?!" *It's getting brighter*

Mugger: *Scared* "T-this is not how I planned on getting-"

Bandicoot: "W-what's happening to me?!" *The aura gets brighter until*

Bandicoot & Mugger: "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" *Enveloped by the aura when it gets really bright*

*When the aura clears, both the bandicoot and the mugger were found passed out, and then... a mysterious figure approaches the bandicoot and picks him up*

Mysterious Figure: "Oh my. It seems after a LONG time, we have finally found a champion chosen by half of the Elemental Crystals already." *Chuckles* "But in all seriousness, I believe that this champion will make a great additional member who change the world for the better..."

Mysterious Figure: "An additional member, of the All-Star Warriors."

"This tale you have read was how a champion was chosen by the Elemental Crystals, but this tale is in fact connected to an even bigger one. One which we will tell you soon."

"Until then... Stay strong, Champion of the Elemental Crystals."
